The Daily Dog started with a diagnosis. Our Aussie doodle Hazel has a rare kidney disease, and the moment we started reading ingredient labels on her prescription food, we realized how much of the pet industry runs on trust that has not been earned.
So we earned it ourselves. Through research, through experience, and through sharing every honest finding with you.
What We Do
The Daily Dog is a dog wellness resource built on one principle: share what actually works, not what pays the most.
We write research-backed articles on nutrition, behavior, and health. We review products we actually buy and use with our own dogs. We build free tools like our feeding calculator to make your life as a dog parent easier.
Every recommendation comes from real experience. Every article is grounded in research we have done ourselves, cross-referenced with veterinary guidance and published studies. We are not a content farm. We are two people, two dogs, and a commitment to getting it right.

Kaia
Six-year-old white lab. Professional napper. Competitive eater. Hazel’s best friend, unofficial emotional support animal, and Tyler’s parents’ dog. Kaia’s ideal day involves laying on top of you, a long walk, and maximum snacks.
The Humans
Tyler and Sam. Dog parents who learned the hard way that the pet food industry does not always have your dog’s best interest in mind. We are not vets. We are not nutritionists. We are two people who started reading labels and could not stop. Now we share what we have learned so you do not have to start from scratch.
